In Peter Okoye‘s very first rant that led to the recentPsquare fracas,
he said he was close to signing female reggae star, Cynthia Morgan only
for her to return his contract and sign with his elder brother Jude Okoye’sNorthside Inc two weeks later.
Afterwards, Cynthia Morgan penned an open letterbegging
the twins not to split up as she still hopes and prays to have a
collabo with them. In her words, ‘If you guys didn’t do it first, I
might not have had an idea or someone to look up to for such greatness.
There is no story about the African music Industry without the names
Psquare and 2face mentioned. And even sef, you guys want to ruin my life
the more! Cynthia Morgan with no Psquare collaboration?’
Her dream of having a Psquare collabo may after all not be fulfilled as Peter Okoye in an exclusiveinterview with THENETNG says, ‘When I set up P-Classic records because people were saying Psquare haven’t helped anyone, I saw the success of Tiwa Savage and I was close to signing Cynthia Morgan and Simi, ask them they’ll tell you’.
‘I remember Paul came to the studio and said he
heard I’m signing Simi and Cynthia, I said ‘Yes’, and he was like ‘What
will people see Jude as’, and I gave him example of Drake and Young
Money, Cash money’.
‘Oscar (Producer of ‘Collabo’ ft Don Jazzy)
called to tell me that they can’t sign the deal, because he heard it’s
causing problem between Psquare. Meanwhile Cynthia and Simi were both
going through the contracts I gave them only for them to return it two days later that they can’t do it.
‘Two weeks after, I was shocked to hear that Jude
had signed Cynthia Morgan, and she knows deep down that she’s never
going to get a Psquare collabo’.
