1. Fresh facts have emerged over the ‘missing’ 2016 budget. Investigations by the senate reveal that the Special Adviser to the President on National Assembly matters, Senator Ita Enag, reportedly replaced the budget with another one with conflicting figures.
2. Apex Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohaneze Ndigbo has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to release its kinsman and director of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Ogu Kanu.The group promised to pressurize Kanu to give up on his fight for the independent state of Biafra.
3. Elder statesman and former Commissioner for Information, Edwin Clark has described the just concluded governorship election in Bayelsa State as disgraceful. Clark said the attitude of the current governor, Seriake Dickson and that of his main challenger, Timipre Sylva shows high level of individual and personal interest.
4. A doctor has been confirmed dead after the deadly Lassa Fever hit Rivers State.
The victim, Doctor Living Jamala of the Obstetrics and Gynecology department in the Braithwait Specialist Hospital died after contact with a patient of Lassa Fever. Meanwhile, the Federal government has emarked N140 to tackle the disease.
5. There was mild drama on Thursday during a meeting between President Muhammadu Buhari and parents of the abducted Chibok girls as well as members of the BringBackOurgirls movement as the president ordered newsmen out of the meeting. According to him, to some “sensitive issues” were to be discussed that should not be made public.
